About Us

Glastonbury Baptist Church began in September of 2008. We are an independent church working to share the good news of Christ’s love with our community. Come experience inspirational music, practical Bible preaching and teaching, friendly people, and a place where you can grow and impact others around you.  We strive to be culturally relevant and Biblically balanced.  Our vision is to reach our community one person and one family at a time helping them to connect, grow and impact our community.

Church Life

Visiting a new church can be a daunting experience.  Where to go?  What to wear? What time to show up?  What’s here for my kids?  What can I expect? We want to put you at ease.  We hope that your first visit to Glastonbury Baptist Church will be enriching and enjoyable for your whole family.  You’ll experience inspirational music, practical Bible preaching and teaching, friendly people, and a place where you can connect, grow and impact others around you.  We are a church that is culturally relevant and Biblically balanced.

Finding Us

On Sundays, we meet at Naubuc School, 84 Griswold St., Glastonbury, CT. The school is located one block west of exit six off of Route 2. Wednesday evening Bible study meets at the Mustard Seed cafe on Hebron Avenue, just opposite Starbucks.

What’s Available for Our Children?

At every service you will find a well-qualified nursery staff and a clean, safe environment to care for children three and under.  On Sunday mornings we offer several Sunday school classes for all ages: Tiny Tots (ages 3-5),  Children’s Class (ages 6-12), and Teen Class (ages 13-18).  Junior Church is provided for children under 10 years of age during the Sunday morning service.

What Are Our Services Like?

You can participate in encouraging and uplifting music as well as enjoy inspirational special music from soloists and special groups.  The music is followed by a clear, passionate, and challenging Bible message from Pastor Mel Sharp.  Each service is about an hour long.

Our Sunday evening service has a different feel — we  sing hymns and choruses, followed by a verse-by-verse study through a book of the Bible.

We also meet on Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm for a prayer and  practical Bible-based classes.  We invite you to attend any of our services.

Do You Offer Bible Studies (Small Groups)?

We are currently meeting with individuals and small groups in our home as needed.

How Should I Dress?

There is no dress code for our guests or members.  Our ministry leaders and many of our members dress in a more traditional “Sunday dress”.  Our goal is that you will feel welcomed and comfortable during your time at GBC.
